L. Wade MacQuarrie

L. Wade MacQuarrie is a Senior Consulting Actuary and owner of Horizon actuarial located in Denver, Colorado. His primary focus is multiemployer retirement plans. Wade began his career as a consulting actuary in 1984.

Relevant Experience

In his career working with multiemployer retirement plans he has worked in detail with the Retail Food Industry. Wade is a lead actuarial consultant for several very large multiemployer defined benefit plans. He also works on defined contribution plans, deferred compensation plans, and Retiree Medical actuarial valuations for Health and Welfare Plans.

Industry Activities

He is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and formerly an annual speaker for their retirement plan certificate series.

Off the Clock

In his spare time, Wade likes to cook, read, hike and is an avid hockey player.

Education

Wade is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, a Fellow in the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Wade graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario, in London Ontario Canada.
